Pray With Us the Jesus Prayer Around the Clock

Pray the Jesus Prayer Around the Clock

Sign up for a time where you will pray the Jesus Prayer. Send email toDeacon Charles Joiner (cjoiner@mac.com) with your name, times you will be praying (more than one person can pray at the same time), and location. He will then post it to the chart below.
It is my heartfelt belief that the greatest work Orthodox can do to stave off the evils that are mounting against us personally and corporately, in the United States and abroad, is to be praying the Jesus prayer consistently, seeking the mercy of God. Perhaps through greater concentration on personal repentance, we might be granted the blessing of pushing back the greater manifestations of evil being perpetrated around the world. I am reminded of a verse from the Old Testament, in the book of II Chronicles 7:14 it reads, …then if my people, on whom my name is called, should repent, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their evil ways, I also will hear from heaven, and I will be merciful to their sins, and I will heal their land. Of course, all things are under God’s Providence and we cannot presume to know God’s will in these matters in the days in which we now live. However, regardless of the result, it seems worth taking up the weapons and tools that God has given us and applying them in heartfelt contrition if we are not already doing so.
